March of the Comedy Festivals

Something about March has comedy festival written all over it. Can you think of a busier month for comedians and comedy fans across America?

To wit:

March 2-6: South Beach Comedy Festival in Florida, Comedy Central's event that, this year, features Doug Benson, Bill Burr, Adam Carolla, Rachel Feinstein, Kevin Hart, Gabriel Iglesias, Michael Kosta, Kathleen Madigan, Wanda Sykes, Theo Von, Sheng Wang, and the Mad Cat Theatre Company.

March 9-13: Women in Comedy Festival in Boston and Cambridge, featuring Jen Kirkman, Morgan Murphy, Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal, plus showcases, seminars and more

March 10-20: Gilda's LaughFest in Grand Rapids, Mich., with shows, films, a contest, plus headliners Bill Cosby, Kevin Hart, Margaret Cho, Mike Birbiglia, Stephen Lynch, Kathleen Madigan, Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood, Gabriel Iglesias, and a tribute for Betty White

March 11-12: Atlanta Comedy Festival at the Apache Cafe

March 12-19: SXSW festival in Austin, Texas (includes official and unofficial shows)

March 16-19: Aspen Laff Festival, with Christopher Titus, Caroline Rhea, Roy Wood Jr., Christina Pazsitzky, Jamie Kilstein, Jackie Kashian, Auggie Smith, and a half-dozen others at the Wheeler Opera House.

March 22-27: Dallas Comedy Festival, with improv, sketch and stand-up

March 26: The Comedy Awards, taped for an April 10 broadcast at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City

March 27 to April 2: Laugh Detroit, featuring David Alan Grier, Bob Saget, Lynne Koplitz and more at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle

And across the ponds…

March 1-27: Brisbane Comedy Festival in Australia

March 17 – April 10: Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival in Scotland

March 26: Swanage Comedy Festival

March 30 – April 24: Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Did I miss anything? If not, I will miss things, because I couldn't possibly be at all of these festivals at the same time. At least not on my budget and scientific prowess.
