Some other headlines of the past day involving comedians and comedy:

  • HBO announced it would film and broadcast Colin Quinn's current Broadway show, Long Story Short. HBO will tape the performances on Feb. 2-3, and air it as a special sometime in April. (NYT)
  • Jon Stewart has been named to the National Sept. 11 Memorial & Museum board. (AP)
  • NBC has picked up pilots from both Chelsea Handler and Whitney Cummings. Cummings also has a second pilot pick-up from CBS.
  • BBC Worldwide is getting into the webseries business, partnering with My Damn Channel to produce and distribute Gigi: Almost American, a new series created by and starring Josh Gad. Gad will be starring this spring in the new Broadway musical by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, The Book of Mormon. (My Damn Channel)
