Want to know about the man behind the Muppet? “Being Elmo” documentary to debut at Sundance 2011

Last year, the Sundance Film Festival boasted its first-ever stand-up comedy film in Louis CK's Hilarious, an award-winning documentary of Joan Rivers (Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work), and a controversial comedy about terrorism in Four Lions.

For 2011, how about Being Elmo?

BEING ELMO: A Puppeteer's Journey (Director: Constance Marks) – The Muppet Elmo is one of the most beloved characters among children across the globe. Meet the unlikely man behind the puppet – the heart and soul of Elmo – Kevin Clash.

That's the one film of note in competition for comedy fans. All of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival selections screening out of competition will be announced tomorrow.
