Stand-up with a twist: Doug Benson’s “The Benson Interruption” coming to Comedy Central this fall?

For years, Doug Benson has invited his funny friends to take the stage in a showcase that allows Benson to sit, either on the side of the stage or sometimes in the front row, and interrupt the performance to take it into a different direction, go on a tangent, or strike up a dialogue. It's "The Benson Interruption."

And Benson announced over the weekend, via message board A Special Thing and his Twitter feed, that Comedy Central will produce a televised version of The Benson Interruption this fall in Los Angeles. Benson said he hopes the show (or series) will premiere in October.

Until then, you can see The Benson Interruption live in Los Angeles on Monday at Largo, and then July 30-31 during the Del Close Marathon at the UCB Theatre in NYC.
