Can a man who impersonated George W. Bush also do Obama? Steve Bridges says yes, in blackface

I just saw this on NBC's Today this morning, so I'll be uploading it as soon as the video becomes available. But it certainly threw me for a loop to realize that Steve Bridges, the impersonator who mimicked President George W. Bush to Bush's face at a previous White House Correspondents Association banquet, decided he could keep his presidential impersonation streak going in blackface to take on President Barack Obama.

In the TV profile this morning, Bridges acknowledged he wasn't sure if he could do it, but decided to give it a try. With the help of a professional movie special effects and makeup artist, Kazuhiro Tsuji. NBC's correspondent takes Bridges around Rockefeller Center, where plenty of tourists wanted to shake this faux-Obama's hand and pose for pictures with him. When you see the before and after look of Bridges as himself and then as faux-Obama, it's quite striking. Like I said, I'll upload it later today. And here it is…

Here is the promotional clip Bridges has for himself as Obama. It's certainly the work of a professional, and the bio for Bridges says that he has trained with the Groundlings. Roll the clip and make your own call:

And here is what happened when Bridges joined W. at the WCHA dinner in 2006:
