RIP: Frank Santos, “The R-Rated Hypnotist”

Frank Santos, who made a name for himself entertaining crowds across New England and in casinos across the country as "The R-Rated Hypnotist," died in his sleep overnight at his home in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Santos was 60.

He was a fixture at the Comedy Connection clubs in Massachusetts and Rhode Island for the better part of two decades. He also had headlined casinos from Foxwoods in Connecticut to the Riviera in Las Vegas, and up until his death, he was working two Friday night shows — early at the Kowloon in Saugus, Mass., and late at Catch A Rising Star in Lincoln, R.I. Though he was billed as "The R-Rated Hypnotist," he also performed "G-rated" shows at area schools. According to news reports, his wake will be held Friday, Sept. 25, at the Lincoln Funeral Home in Lincoln, R.I., followed by a private funeral.

Here was his most recent promotional video:

The Providence Journal already has rounded up some brief remembrances from his friends in comedy.
