R.I.P. Bob Lazarus

I didn't get the chance to know Bob Lazarus during my brief stint covering the Boston comedy scene, so I shall defer to others in remembering him this week. His battle with leukemia began after I had left Boston for New York City, so I followed the news and fund-raising efforts from afar. Lazarus died Jan. 4 on his 53rd birthday.

Here is Nick Zaino's report from yesterday. Barry Crimmins weighs in with this remembrance. You can read others in the Boston scene talk about him on The Comedy Studio's message board. Services were held today. From the obituary: Donations may be made to the Carly Lazarus College Fund, Kathi Lazarus, Trustee, and mailed to Rabbi Jonathan Hausman, Ahavath Torah Congregation, 1179 Central St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
