Jim Tavare on Wings: Turn back the clock!

Have to give credit here to comedian Mark Agee for his keen memory in recalling that Last Comic Standing finalist Jim Tavare has been on the NBC television network in primetime before…long before, in fact, appearing as himself on an episode of Wings. Specifically, the February 1992 episode, "Take My Life, Please," in which Crystal Bernard’s character attempts stand-up at a fictional Nantucket club. Oliver North is on this episode, too?! There’s a "hello, is this thing on!" utterance, and then Tavare’s routine, which includes jokes he told last night on the TV. How many of your jokes hold up after 16 years? Don’t let the hair fool you. Tavare’s introduction comes in at about the 4:44 mark on this clip…enjoy!

And here was Tavare’s three-minute set shown last night on NBC:

  1. didn’t he just do the same dip yesterday night!?!?!?! i guess material aged like fine wine

  2. At least he left a 16 year gap, the other comics on last comic standing repeat same jokes and routines every episode!
Why don’t you show clips of them repeating their stuff?
